What Does Achievement Mean For A Martial Artist?

“Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is achievement?

What is it exactly? It is diligently training for your belt test, it is the symbol of your current belt rank, it is graciously accepting the attentive instruction of your teachers, it is being in harmony with your fellow students in the dojang, it is your championship trophy, it is helping your school, it is working towards and completing the requirements for your first degree black belt.

What does it mean?

Achievement is not just a thing to be measured; it is also an abstract ideal that guides us all towards self-cultivation, in the refinement of our technique and character. It is learning to accept and move forward focusing  1% daily on the things you dream for, on improving yourself, your health, how you think and how you react, through training, with perseverance.

What does achievement mean for you?

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
